    Default Journals - NCMA

    Hi, does anyone use the NCMA Journal bookets from the NCMA book shop? I am trying to find out what the layout is like. Does it give opportunity to put pictures in etc.....does it have lines so my diary entry doesn't go wonky?

    I am in two minds whether to buy them.

    thanks

    Hi I brought them for my 2.5 year old twins but to be honest I think they were too expensive to what they are. I brought them 4 months ago so the format is as follows if it has not changed ;
    One page to fill in about minded... Name, dob allergies etc and age a pic
    The diary page has the day and date at the top,
    What we have done today section ( with enough space to write around 7 sentences if u have smallish handwriting)
    Then a section of how it links to eyfs
    Then a section on how this activity supported learning and dev.
    Then a section for next steps
    Then squashed into the bottom is spaces for amounts of food, number of nappies, woke up this morning amount of sleep, parents comments.

    It was useful to have a look at and it's good for keep the diary together as its bound but that's about it.

    I find that there is not enough space to write everything I need to into it, and feel obliged to fill in the links to eyfs which means I am doubling my paperwork. But if I don't fill it in then over half the page is empty so it seems a waste.

    If you changed your paperwork system and did planning separately then your obs and assessment in this diary too then I think it would work for you. But for me I preferred having my lj's separate.

    I am not sure if that helped or just me waffling
