After minding for 10 years and last 2 inspections getting good with outstanding areas finally got the grade
I don't post very often, but read the forum most weeks. I thought that as there seems to be lots of interest
in inpections in the current round I would share my inspection and answer any questions you guys might have.
The inspection was different this time, much much more focus on how we know our children, their interests, stages of development and what we do to ensure they make progress in their learning and development. Rather than huge reams of paperwork that I had assumed you needed to get an outstanding,(and never having these reams!) after many years 'discussing' these requirements with LEA, this inspector watched the children and I during the first 1/2 hour and then asked me about the children, in a very general way. I know my children, I watch and play with them every day; so this was easy.
I did nothing spectacular, just followed the normal routines, snack time, storytime, outside play etc the children know what usually happens here so played and bickered over the favorite car outside! Just like a normal day.
Prior to the inspection, the inspector phoned to make the appointment and asked me, to ask if the parents could write a letter saying what I did in partnership with them - as she would not be able to speak to all of them on the day - I asked the parents to do this and over the weekend, such amazing letters came in that made me cry!
These meant more to me than any inspection and so I started the week on a high! Bring on the inspector
Am rambling! - feel free to ask questions, will answer all that I can.
