    Default First Inspection

    Hi there everybody,

I was wondering if somebody would know the answer to this.

I am a newly registered childminder I have been registered for two months now approximately but have yet to find a mindee!!

I was just wondering if Ofsted still carry out the inspection whether or not you have any mindees or do they wait until you actually start minding?

    Thanks

    Jennifer

Ofsted will contact you within the first 6-9 months of you being registered and ask if you have any children on roll. If you haven't they will normally say that they will contact you again in xx amount of time OR ask you to let them know when you do get children so that they can arrange for inspection.

However after - I think its a year or so, they will insist on doing an inspection whether you have mindees or not, if you don't have children then the most you can get is a satisfactory grading.
not that there is anny thing wrong in satisfactory - it means you are meeting all the requirements...
