    Default 17 Graded Areas???

I was speaking to another CM today (who I don't know very well) she has just had her inspection. She said she got an overall Outstanding.

She went on to say that she there are 17 areas that the inspector grades us on and she got 16 outstanding and 1 was a good.

What the heck are these 17 areas??? I didn't want to appear ignorant by asking her

If you go onto the Ofsted website and have a look at some childminder inspection reports you will see what they are and a range of comments set against them.

    Thank you

My plan was that once the mindees have been collected I'll dig out my last Ofsted report.

If you were inspected before Sept 2008 you won't have had an EYFS Inspection. The old insspections were done according to meeting the National Standards not EYFS so the format of the new reports is different.

As far as I know there are 4 sections each with their own area which total 17:

The overall effectiveness of the early years provision
    :

How well does the setting meet the needs of the children in the Early Years Foundation Stage?

The capacity of the provision to maintain continuous improvement

The effectiveness of leadership and management of the early years provision

How effectively is the Early Years Foundation Stage led and managed?:

The effectiveness of leadership and management in embedding ambition and driving improvement

The effectiveness with which the setting deploys resources

The effectiveness with which the setting promotes equality and diversity

    The effectiveness of safeguarding

The effectiveness of the setting’s self-evaluation, including the steps taken to promote improvement

    The effectiveness of partnerships

The effectiveness of the setting’s engagement with parents and carers

The quality of the provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage:

The quality of the provision in the Early Years Foundation Stage

Outcomes for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage:

Outcomes for children in the Early Years Foundation Stage

The extent to which children achieve and enjoy their learning

The extent to which children feel safe

The extent to which children adopt healthy lifestyles

The extent to which children make a positive contribution

The extent to which children develop skills for the future
