How long after registration is 1st inspection?

Hi
I became registered on July 2nd and was wondering (roughly) when I should expect 'THE CALL' for my first inspection? I'm so nervous. I live in Essex, does anyone know are they working to 6months?
If that is the case I hope it's after Christmas but I suppose it could be before or after?...arrgh....
Also what happens if they come and my mindee is on holiday, especially as I'm expecting it over Christmas.

Hi, I registered in July too and was told it'd be within six months. They should ring you and ask when the children will be with you, not actually give you a date, but just some ideas of when you're available in the next week or so... that's what I was told anyway, I haven't had 'the call' yet...!! lol. xxx

I registered in April and had my first inspection in Oct - so 6 months - almost to the day.

When they do call they ask when available - so can say if on holiday and when go to regular things like toddlers and school runs.

I was told that my inspection would be anytime during the following week (they called late on a Friday) but that would not be until 11:30- due to a commitment to take a child somewhere. In fact they turned up on the Wednesday at 10:30 - luckily the child in question was off that day with a tummy bug - otherwise I would have been out when the inspector arrived!!
