Thumbs down all start from 0 cycle

i have not read it anywhere on ere but if it is im sorry to repeat...

just found out last night at a training meeting that...

if you have not been inspected by Ofsted under EYFS then your inspection can be due any time after 1st Sept,

we all start from 0 cycle ... i said im not due for 1 n 1/2 to 2 years!!
but its true a lady on the meeting had her inspection just b4 september then last week got a phone call from ofsted to say we do not give notice, we dont want to know if you have mindees we are givin you 12/24 hrs notice of an inspection,,

and they turned up to say that we are are at 0 point in our 3yr cycle as EYFS is a new inspection!!!!!!!!

    may the Lord Help Us..

    so girls i in advance of an inspection that can happen at any time wish to say;
thank you for all your help its like a big happy family
please feel free to add your thoughts but do keep our language to english not french lol

I've heard this too but thought it was just an ugly rumour

Seriously though the poor woman - an inspection just before and just after EYFS starts that seems ludicrous

    Going to hide ............. now!!!!!

I've never heard of this tbh... all the messages coming from Ofsted say that the only reasons they will break the 3 year cycle is if there have been complaints or if they are following up on unsatisfactories or concerns from the previous cycle of inspections.

They may have changed their minds I suppose, but it's unlikely because they are catching up from industrial action over a pay dispute... plus they are busy with learning about Eyfs and all the pre reg visits etc.

I wonder if the person you were speaking to didn't tell you the full story Andrea?

I SAID THIS at the meeting and nearly all of us burst into out rage,
she got a good in her last inspection and the EYFS a good so up the ofsted office lol
i said after the meeting, to my network coordinator tell me was there something else like a follow up to a recommendantion, but no sorry girls n boys its all true our cycle starts from 0 well we could have cryed and the panic on our faces so we all stayed almost half an hr talking about it as you do a little moan ere n there,,

i said if they turned up at my home i would tell the inspector that ms andrea08 is not at home and to come at a more convieniant time pmsl

well how are they to know if i am in or not if they dont ask 4 notice!!
arrrrr still feel mad about it they should have informed us by post of the changes just as we have to inform them of our changes!

there has to be others that know of this if not ill try get my network co to make a post to clear some questions up as we are NOT HAPPY

it probaly varies again depending on what area you live in. Surely we are all ready for EYFS, probably gone over board and they didn't expect us to do so much !!

I spoke to our local specialist - your friend Sarah and she said that what she heard was something similar and that they are talking about doing unannounced visits and their way around minders being out is that they are going to hit areas and call on all the minders in that area until they find somone in - ****** hell its a nightmare and a mine field - hands up to everyone who has everything in place that they need or would like to have in place.

i dont start rumours and would not worry people for no reason, i mentioned it because it is happening and it upset the lady in question as she only had a few weeks to put EYFS into practice as she was not allowed to use any EYFS materials or posters and had to show continued work on Birth to Three before 1st sept and her inspection on the old system.
we were very happy for her as she got a Good on the EYFS System but some of our childminders are still struggling to understand it never mind putting it into practice.
why Ofsted would inspect someone only in the summer of 08 and give a Good would they inspect again in Oct 08 ??? has ofsted gone mad if it was unsatisfactory then ok but a Good !!!???

we are going grey with worry no wonder so many are giving notice and leaving the job

Are you an inspector or married to one. You always seem to reply to Ofsted threads without giving links or sources? Just wondered.
