Outstanding!! yay!!
It's so great to change my "latest Ofsted grade" from Good, to Outstanding after being a member on here since before I first started out in April 2008.
it feels so good.. no it feels Outstanding!!
I think I deserve it though
Thanks for the forum and it's support over the years

Fantastic news. Well done you.
When you have time it would be lovely to hear how your inspection went and what the inspector was interested in.

Congratulations and really well done - my inspection report has just been published today, have just sent the link to all mindees parents past and present!
I have noticed over the last month that more childminders on the independent page who have been waiting 5+ years have recently been having inspections and lots of us have been getting "outstanding" - I know we have all worked hard and deserve it, but have started to wonder if all the people who have been campaigning at the Ofsted Big Conversation discussions have started to make Ofsted treat us fairly and if we meet the inspection criteria, give us an Outstanding grade for a home from home environment rather than just to Nursery settings.
I'm not trying to take the shine off all the recent Outstanding grades just wondering if someone has turned all inspectors into human beings?

Are they usually quite harsh/hard to please if you're a childminder working from home then hectors house?

There have been reports of inspectors who say that they never give Outstanding to childminders, only to Nurseries. At a recent Childminding conference, an Ofsted inspector gave a short talk and said that a higher percentage of childminders are improving on their grades than Nurseries currently. I think we have our fantastic forum and independent facebook page to thank for keeping us motivated to improve and on top of any changes in legislation or good practice.
On a training course recently where I was the only childminder, all rest Nursery staff - they had no idea about the food standards changes happening on 13th Dec - don't know who Nurseries turn to for help, but they clearly aren't well informed!
