    Default Graded visit eeek

Hi, I am after some advice please. I received a phone call to let me know that Ofsted will be making a visit in the new year, they will call me and give me 3 dates. This is my first graded visit and I am so nervous. I have sent out questionnaires to parents regarding my service (thank you for the help with that), I have got my observations for the children all up to date, what other paperwork do I need. I will be really disappointed if I don't get good. I have just started a monthly newsletter and because im looking after more children, I have started to do a menu. I haven't really done any planning, any tips please would be really greatfull.

    Thank you

Don't panic. I'd suggest you look at free resources for a list of paperwork you need. There's also an Ofsted document called 'Requirements for written documents: childminders delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage' although bear in mind that some inspectors look for more than the minimum requirements. And I think general forum advice is to have written policies & RAs (good practice).
Inspection emphasis seems to be more on how you interact with the LOs, helping them develop (and showing evidence of this) and knowing them well.

There is a useful little document called Essential Ofsted Paperwork Checklist *FREE* on this website - you just need to log in (with your free membership) to access it -

Childminder Guides - Exclusive Information Guides for Registered Childminder Members - Childcare.co.uk

    Good luck with your inspection!

Look at the EYFS and you will get an idea of what is required...do you follow Development Matters and Early Years Outcomes?
You need to plan for your children...if you observe them what are you observing them on? what are your next steps in learning for them?
how do you record progress and share it with parents?
    Lots to think about...good luck
