pre reg visit help!!

Hi I've just received a call saying my pre reg visit is on Thursday. I'm so worried about it. Any tips please

I had my pre-reg inspection a couple of months ago. Firstly it won't be as bad as you think, the waiting is worse than the inspection.

Secondly, fill out the question sheet that you can take into the inspection BUT although you can take it in, I felt like I would be marked down for constantly saying, 'excuse me can I just check that'. Therefore you really need to try and know the answers, not word for word, but well enough that you can answer the question. Just writing down the answers is usually enough to make it stick in your brain!

You will be surprised at how much you remember from the course. I was in America for a month, hadn't slept for 30 hours on the way back, slept well that night but got a call from the inspector 10 am in the morning asking to come 10 am the next day!! I didn't really have a lot of time to learn the answers, especially after not reading it for a month, but I was surprised at how much I remembered.

The inspection was 3 hours and only about 20 minutes was looking round the house, so it was quite intense questioning, but the inspector was nice and put me at ease, hopefully you get the same.

The inspector probably won't go round your house with a fine toothcomb, so don't worry about having not cleaned the oven or something!

sorry I didn't reply last nite. My visit was at half 10.
I was so nervous but it was really ok she was here for about 1 and half hours.
Best advice I can give is to make sure you have worked through the preparing for my visit booklet. It really helped.
She said she is happy for me to mind children and my certificate will be in the post.
I'm so pleased

Mine was Friday at 9.30am and it lasted FOUR HOURS!!!!!

But she was lovely and I agree - that booklet was important!
Im approved and my cert is in the post too!

No, I haven't started advertising yet but hopefully it won't take long to get some children, I'm still working at the mo but can't wait to hand my notice in. Hope my certificate hurries up and gets here. Have you got yours yet? I'm nowhere near Kent, I'm in Grimsby.
