    Default Advice please!

Hello all ! Been AGES since I was last in here !

Just wanted to run something by you - before I say yes! I have decided to no longer provide an Early Years Provision and have since taken myself off the register - but I am still on the compulsory and voluntary.

A friend of mine is stuck for childcare - her son is four and she only requires one and half hours a day for three days a week - I can legally do this - am I right in thinking this? And can I take payment?

Just want to ensure that I have my facts straight before I say yes - I am not going to jeopordise my registration if in any shape or form I am breaching my current registration.

    Thank you and kind regards x x x x

    Hi

yes it is my understanding that as long as it is for less than 2 hours then you are ok but if it were me I would run in past ofsted. Something you should consider is your public liability insurance as I think mine says something along the line that I am covered for the numbers I am registered for with ofsted so if you are not registered with ofsted then there could be a loophole

Mmm that is a very good point - just checked with my friend she is working for one and a half hours a day - but needs cover for two hours - as much as she is a friend and I would like to help her out, I just feel uneasy about it you know - think I am going to say no. If she is constantly running late to pick up then she is putting my registration at risk. Plus I always vouched i'd never do business with a friend again - it just doesn't work! Think I've made my decision - it's going to be a no !

    Thank you !!!!
