It's your business .... you do what you're comfortable with

The new one is nice enough, but I don't see how it will allow you to be more detailed then the current one. You can very easily link to eyfs on your current one, and I would assume you add your next steps in the dialogue box. The one she has given you - to me at least - feels a little bit patronising and childish really. I prefer the one you use and it is the one out of the two that I would choose to use.

To me that looks more like an evaluation sheet not an observation sheet.

Just tell her you gave it a go but prefered your one.

Its your business, you can use whatever paperwork you feel comfortable with.

I wouldnt use that one. I would use the one you feel most comfortable in with in your working practice

I agree. Use what you are comfortable with. As my very lovely ofsted inspector told me, your observations are for your use - as long as you are able to get the information you need from them to move on then it doesn't matter what it looks like!
I personally think alot of development workers in my area seem to want us to all use the same paperwork as it makes it easier for them to understand!

That looks like a self evaluation/reflection sheet to be honest.

I agree with everyone else - your business, they are only giving advice, you don't have to follow it.

Not impressed with that sheet TBH - the one you are using IMHO is better & as said above you use what you feel comfortable with. I also agree that it seems that DW like everyone to use the same thing / what they provide as it makes their life easier!

I wouldn't use that one, I personally don't like it I use a few different ways of recording my observations I think it makes the final Journal more interesting

I have been told 3 different ways of doing planning by my DO, Ofsted and Education and as a cm friend told me, I nod in all the right places, say encouraging things and do what I want to do and am most comfortable doing
