Default Please help (obs, assesments and plans)

Hi everyone im getting myself really stressed iv worked all of last week in every free minute i had and all weekend (missing out on time with my baby) andi still havent made a start on sheets or booklets for planning observation sheets and assesment sheets. all ive done is some log books and most of my sef. Can anyone point me in the right direction to sheets that i could adapt please? There is things like this on ebay already made etc so you can just adapt but ive spent so much money this week already i really dont want tobe paying out more on paperwork if im going to find it too difficult to use.
    Many thanks

I would council you out of buying things off ebay as you will most likely change them anyway. Bromley site has some stuff you can alter -

    Observations - http://www.bromleycma.org.uk/eyfs/ob...ions.htmlhttp:

    Planning - http://www.bromleycma.org.uk/eyfs/planning.html

    Assessments - http://www.bromleycma.org.uk/eyfs/assessment.html

    Hi

I got a tracker book from www.qed.uk.com. It contains trackers for ages 0-5 and covers all the areas of learning and development.

    Hope that helps!

Thanks that looks really good, im not sure how id get evidence for most of those things but it might be worth a try. Can you photocopy those trackers once you have bought one or does it come ona disk so you can print a few off for different children?
    Thanks

You can only get thme in book form as far as I know. I was advised to give them to the parents 1st to complete if it's a new child and then carry on from there.

What evidence do you use for them as some are quite tricky i.e the ones where children are happy in their environment etc

Well you can only note down what you've actually seen and it will depend on the child and child's age. It does seem to cover everything though. I'd spent ages trying to work out a system before I was told about this book.

From working in nursery and pre~schools I have used both tracking books and learning journals / journeys. I much prefer the learning journeys as the childs development is recorded in the order they achive it. Wherein a tracking book you have to flip backwards and forwars trough the book.

The way I work now is to have a large A3 book for each child. Called x's learning Journey at (setting name) with childs painted self portrait on cover...looks very affective.

In the book I write down observations of what they have done, then link to whatever area of EYFS they promote highligting aspect, then I write a next step. This is then tracked on a form on last page by dating area, and age range it applys to. Form is really useful as it shows if the child is not doing any activitiea that promote a certain area so I can then put it into planning for following week on short term plan.

I can't put form on here, if you want to see it pm your email address and I'd be more than happy to email it to you.

Also in learning journeys I put pictures and photograph and again link them to EYFS and track on last form.

Hi hopefully the form will attach,

Though now my boss made another one, which includes all the age ranges as well and we are using that now, I still prefer this one as it is more personal to the child rather than age related.
