Default Do you use parental information as a means of assessment

    Hey everyone!

When you speak to parents with regards ot achievements at home, do you note these down as evidence towards your assessments? If so, how do you record them? I am currently a nursery teacher and want to get parents more involved with their children's learning and development both at home and school.

    Many thanks!

Yes parents input is always included in children's files and used for assessing their learning and development and fed into their next steps.

Any comments parents make about outings at the weekend or family events can also be used to pick up on children's current interests as well.

I give parents a sheet to fill in every term - it includes their child's current interests and new things they can do.

I also write down anything parent's tell me about what their child has done/likes/new words etc
