Default Obs for 3yr old attending nursery

I am a new childminder & I would like to know how much planning & observations are required for a 3 year old who attends nursery & is only with me 2 hours after nursery, one day a week. By the time we return from school run we only have just over an hour of play time. I do currently plan activities & I plan to liaise with the nursery staff (after seeking parental permission) to match their themes where possible.

I think this is a common worry for a lot of childminders - how much is enough? Especially with part time children.

I know it puts a lot of people off taking on a few hours work because they worry about the paper trail - which is sad when parents might only need a bit of care.

I would say - work with pre-school and home - note that as your planning / learning intentions for the child - do a short obs every couple of weeks (just a photo and a few notes).
