Chinese New Year - Paper plate snakes

Very easy activity for little ones - take a large paper plate and let children sponge paint it - use a couple of colours. Adult will need to help with the next bit - when dry cut the plate in a circular, spiral shape - add two googly eyes to head (innermost bit) and a bit of coloured paper for the tongue if wanted. Punch a hole in the head and hang up - the spiral will open out when you do this.

We did this activity this morning but just used card cut into a circle. The kids coloured and stuck stickers on and then a piece of string to hold it with

Great minds and all that! The boys were making snakes tonight with paper plates.

They struggled to get the thickness right so we printed from DLTK onto card and they focussed on their cutting skills.
