A competition??? Oh no, I'll be useless!

My kit hasn't arrived yet, fingers crossed the instructions are good!

Is the kit a large box? Whats in it?

I'll have to plant mine in a tub incase we move house half way though!

It arrived in a padded envelope!

There are four seed potatoes - two of each type, four black plastic growbags, some stickers and a watering spout which lets you make a plastic pop bottle into a watering can.

To enter the competition you have to grow the potatoes in the growbags provided and there are dates by which you must do things. At the end you harvest and weigh your potatoes to see who's grown the heaviest amount.

Chitting is allowing the seed heads to harden off before planting.

You mustn't start it before 3rd March - then you put the potatoes in an empty egg box (mustn't mix the types up) on the windowsill for two weeks.

You can't plant them until 17th March!

    Wow it's all so exciting!

I think we should have our own mini competition on here just so one of us has a chance of winning!

Maybe we shouldn't let the children help.........don't want them spoiling our chances.

I'll provide a prize for the winner.

You're showing your competitive side there Lucy

I'll be scouring the garden centres at the weekend for some "secret ingredients" to add to the soil
