A quick question - who does them...?
I always have (well only been reg for a year - but...) It's just I've just taken on 2 kids form another minder, as she's having a baby, and I said to the mum I do a daily diary. As the girl is almost 4, and boy is after school only, I said it'll be quite basic. Just briefly what we've done, whhat they've eaten, and if there was anything in particular to tell her. She said 'Oh right - ok'. The old cm didn't do it.
Now I've spoke to a few other cm's and none do it. Said if it was for a baby then they would - but say if the parents want it & supply a book - then they'll do it. It takes too much time.
I find it takes 5 mins when kids are playing nicely to write something quick.
I thought we had to do this. Part of the whole working in partnership with the parents bit...?
But it's got me thinking - am I doing it when I needn't be - or am I doing it right?
