Default when do you take xmas decs down?

    hi all..

I don't know why but around now i already get itchy feet to take down the xmas decs.. I was just wondering when everyone else does? apparently they should be down by the 12th night which is 5th/6th jan or its bad luck.. is it also bad luck to take down earlier than that?

I've already taken a few bits down just to tidy up the place a bit..

    I know the feeling! LOL

Mine only went up on the 22nd this year so not feeling too bad yet, but they always come down after breakfast on the 2nd.

I don't think it's bad luck to take them down before 12th night. I usually leave them up til then but I feel like taking mine down now too - probably because I've got a bit of time on my hands. (apart from my fibre optic tree - I love it and want to keep that up all year round!)

I always take mine down on Jan 1st .... i don't drink or go out on New Yers Eve so i've a clear head to start the dismantling.

Then i have a nice clean, tidy house ..... with so much more room, ready to start the New Year

I take most down in the early hours of Jan 1st - as I like to have a fresh start to the new year - I never do anything for New Years eve so always have a clear head.

However Dh is superstious and insists on leaving up the wreath on the front door until 12th night

I like to keep all the decorations up for New Year's Day but can't wait to put them all away on 2nd Jan ready for all my mindees coming back and before my kids go back to school.

I will take mine down on the 2nd as I am back at work on 3rd Jan. The house always looks so bare though.

Mine will come down this weekend. They are usually down before the children go back to school or mindees start back.

I usually take mine down on the 1st Jan while everyone else is still sleeping off their hangovers I have already taken down the cards and the childminding stuff in the dining room was taken down when I finished work last Thursday so it looked more like a dining room than a playroom for Christmas dinner!!!
