Perhaps you kneaded it too much and got to much air in it.
200 deg what? My oven is electric and I bake mine at 80 deg. A really cool oven.
Could it be that?

You cooked it!!!
Turn your oven down to the lowest setting (maybe 20 degrees) and leave it for about 12 hours

I bake mine on 100 for 3-5 hours... i think your oven way too high x
deffo too hot, but don't worry as it happens to the best of us (the best of us being me!) LOL. I was baking mine in the oven on a low heat, all going perfectly well...until I needed to cook lunch and forgot the salt dough was in there! And it did exactly as yours has done. Soooooooo annoying though, as it looked lovely before I ruined it. Hey ho...another learning curve.

Thanks all that's what I suspected plus prob did knead too much alright! Shame it did look good and Mindee finished today so that's that. Never mind learning curve!
Here is the link .. I did read it right?! http://kids.creativity-portal.com/d/...lt.dough.shtml
I did exactly the same thing. Very annoying, but at least we will know for next time!!!!
the temp in the recipe is in fahrenheit whereas you've done it at 200 celcius, should only be about 90c

It says 200F, I presume you used 200C?
Ha ha that would be it!! Duh!! Thanks guys xx
Oops! I would have probably done the same thing so don't feel bad. Next year you will make fab ones!
Mine all puffed up last year. Luckily they were made by me for the kids to paint so I could quietly bin them and nobody was any the wiser!
