    Default Appropriate Clothes

Mindee has turned up this morning in a summer dress and flip flops. She does have a winter coat and a change of clothes with her, but the change of clothes are a short skirt, trainers, sleeveless top and no socks. i know it's blue skies outside, but it's freezing...can't believe it.

Welcome to the mad world of parent's strange ideas of appropriate clothes. I have realised that some do listen, some don't.

I know it is not our responsibility but I am lucky enough that I have loads of old boys and girls clothes for my own children. This means I can change the children and go about our normal routine.

I would mention to parents or failing that send out newsletters

    I would do a newsletter ...........

Remind parents of appropriate clothing (colder weather).....I did this recentlly.

As if i needed to go out i would !and i am not prepared to lend my own childrens clothes to mindee's .

Im quite lucky though and parents have lots of spare clothes in the mindees bag....

I agree I wouldn't use clothes that my children currently use. I have a stash that mine have grown out of.

"As the weather is now turning colder and we are heading for the winter months can all parents please ensure that children are wearing appropiate clothing for the weather conditions to include winter jacket hat gloves ane winter shoes/wellies.

This ensures that when we go outside all children are warm and dry.

Please also provide a complete spare set of appropiate clothing for the inevitable accidents ( including puddle jumping! ). This spare set can be left at my house if this is easier for you."

" Any child who arrives dressed inappropiately for the weather will not be admitted to the setting until suitabley attired."

This is an optional addition - depends how much it bugs you!!

I have this type of problem all the while.

Last week mum was late for her bus to work as she had to go home and get mindee her coat - she came in just a top and jeans, no change of clothes or a coat - it talked of rain later in the day.

Still have problems with it all - she comes in the fake uggs, she has two different styles and with one she walks all wonky, her foot not in them properly and the others fall off all the time. I tell mum about it and she agrees with me and doesn't bring her in them...for about 2 days

Some people just don't think do they?

I once had a child turn up in the snow in summer dress as she refused to wear anything else, luckily mum brought spare sutible clothing which, after being out in the snow and getting cold, she choose to wear,, sometimes the older ones need to learn for themselves.
I had 4 school walkers this week and not one of them came with a coat on a day it was forecast rain,, so yes i had 4 wingy wet children to deal with!
