    Default Muddy Boots

    Today's gripe - muddy wellies.

Do you clean wellies before you send them home (if they got muddy at yours)?

Sometimes I do, but to be honest, I find it hard to get the time because of where our outdoor tap is. I don't know if it is rude to send them home muddy if they came in clean though...

Then I have it the other way round too, when I get filthy boots sent in which didn't get muddy at mine. The sweet side of me wants to just be happy that at least the children are going out into nature at the weekends with their parents, but it does mildly irritate me too, as some of that mud will inevitably end up in my house on my floor. One arrived in their muddy wellies today and stepped inside, getting mud all over my indoor doormat.

It's probably just one of those things we have to grin and bear.

Some wellies live full time at my house and we have a box by front door for them. Some children bring their wellies daily.... to be honest, whilst i grouch at dried mud coming into my porch, i don't really think about it and i just send wellies home in whatever state they are in! Along with piddlesuits etc! Occasionally I'll apologise and say they might need a wash!

Ooops ... just noticed too late to edit ... PUDDLESUITS ... although, one small child absolutely insisted they didn't need the toilet and the resulting event could result in them becoming called piddlesuits. I can categorically state that it kept it all in! And the outsidev was dry

I've got one of these. I find it really helpful for cleaning muddy wellies before we come indoors. We also use it in the garden for watering plants, cleaning toys etc.
