    Default Baked Beans

Would you class Heinz baked beans as processed food?

Does anyone happen to know if the low sugar and salt variety hae other nonsense in them instead?

No I wouldn’t class them as processed food. Don’t know about low salt varieties I only buy normal Heinz.

I guess they are classed as processed by the very nature of being in a tin but that doesn't make them unhealthy as they do count towards one of your five a day . We only have the reduced sugar ones but they do have sweetener listed on the ingredients.

Is this a parental issue Maza?

It was not really a parent issue, but sort of, lol!

I have one parent who doesn't want her little one to have any processed food (or sugar), which is fine as he only comes for lunches, not dinner, and we actually don't have a lot of processed food anyway. He has recently increased his days and the two who were with him today were having beans - they can't get enough of them! I wasn't going to give this mindee any until I had checked with mum. I checked with her and she said they are one of his favourite things. Brilliant - a quick and easy source of protein and like you say Pixie, one of our five a day.
