I use the PACEY accounts book and do my own accounts but I know a lot of childminders use accountants. I make my own attendance record now instead of the Pacey one as I found it expensive for what it is.

Like Pixie dust, I also now make my own register because I couldn't justify buying one anymore. It's just a hard backed A4 note book with a new page each month for each child.

Accounts - I used to use Pacey but my DH does my tax return and he prefers to make his own spreadsheet. He has explained it to me, but I glaze over.

I make my own attendance register because the pacey one wasn't big enough! I have a page for each child that covers the 4 mths of that
term and space for any notes etc.

I created my own accounts too! I don't use an accountant as I only have my childminding to account for, and when I spoke to one, and he'd want lists and dates for receipts etc ... if be doing everything bar the adding up!

I have one sheet that I put all income onto each month, and then each week, I put all expenses/receipts etc onto/in an A6 envelope and write what they are, I then add it up at the end of each week. I then have an A5 envelope for each month that I put each weekly envelope in and write how much my expenses are for each week .... with space for total at end of month.
Finally, I have another sheet, that I put all the income on, and monthly expenses, and space to put all utilities, council tax etc on for the year.... this page looks similar to the back page of the pacey accounts!
It sounds faffy, but I find it quite simple!
DH has said I ought to use online software, but I'd still need to keep receipts and write them down, so find this easier. It is just an hour or so of adding up when I want to file tax return! In theory I keep it up to date weekly/ monthly in practice, at least if everything is in weekly/ monthly envelopes it's OK!

I do my own attendance sheets. It took years to get them exactly as I want them, but about 5 years ago I finally got the lay out I wanted. It's very simple, but works just as I want it to.

I have 2 accountants in the family, but still do my own accounts. I don't them knowing how much I spend on resources All payments I receive go into my bank account so I just print a download of them each month. I write expenses in a book and put all paper receipts in a file. These days the majority of my spending is online so I keep online receipts in an online file that I can print out if I need to.
