Open cup - how old?
It's been a while since I've minded little ones, so I can't remember, but how old roughly would you say they are when they can start to drink out of an unlidded cup?

Ummmm ... I usually try around 18 mths, but it depends on the child! I have a lovely 19mth old ... he's very big / tall and clumsy because he hasn't quite grown into his size yet. So not yet. I have another little one, who is great with an open cup at 17mths.

Just started one who’s 2 beginning feb on a two handled lidless cup. She’ll move on to a child size China cup once she’s got the hand of a lidless plastic one.

Thanks ladies.
I tried a few weeks ago and he just refused to try and actually looked a bit unsettled at the thought of it, so I put the lid back on and left it for the time being. We tried again on Friday and he actually had a few sips. He got drenched and we had to change his clothes, but I was so proud of him for being brave enough to have a go. Got some great action shots for mummy too.

Yes, they do get a bit wet first few times but if you carry it on as you know they soon get the hang of it.

I find the first sign is when they start drinking from a jug at the water table without spilling it
