Complaint or not?
A parent of a child leaving my care has told me they think I *may* have said xyz to their child. This wasnt stated when they first served notice so I have literally just heard about it during the notice period. Is this classed as an official complaint/an allegation or other?

Even if you do not call it a 'complaint', it sounds like a 'concern' and that is counted the same in EYFS. Read paragraphs Section 3- 3.74 and 3.75 in EYFS, all explained quite clearly there. Doesn't matter that it is in the notice period.
If it is a malicious complaint that could turn nasty you could inform Ofsted incase the parent does, otherwise, follow what it says in EYFS.
If it is to do with money then Ofsted won't be interested anyway.
I hope it is sorted out soon. Sending hugs x

Thanks moggy. Thats another thing, when is a complaint a complaint and when is it a malicious complaint?! Surely any complaint you don't agree with is in your own eyes a malicious one? Sorry not asking you necessarily more thinking out loud!

The way I always think - if it could come back to haunt you then record it and deal with it as a complaint... have a paper trail just in case x
