    Default Assistants and first aid

Do assistants have to have a first aid certificate, or is that only if they’re going to be left in sole charge of the children?

Example, an assistant may be in a different room in the house with a couple of children, but all will still be within hearing distance of the childminder. The assistant would never be left alone in the house with children.

Only if they're going to be in sole charge

Personally, I would still get them to do first aid so that should the need arise for them to be in sole charge, this could be done without having to juggle anything.

Thank you, that's the answer I was hoping for!

My assistant will do their first aid when I next do mine, but I just wanted to check they didn't need to do it before then.
