Thanks Floradora. I like these booklets - lots of useful info in one place.

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that the portion sizes are on the large side? I know they are only guidelines. I've used them before and the majority of children would be happy splitting the breakfast suggestions into two - having one half as breakfast (say, the cereal) and then the other part as snack (toasted muffin/fruit). If they had the whole of the breakfast and the whole of the suggested snack then they would struggle to eat lunch! Maybe that's just my experience...

I thought they seemed a bit big too. I do like a quick read through for ideas, and the pages of portion size are good ( as I like to give these to parents every now and again! ).

the list of meal for a menu plan was interesting, but a bit 'how to suck eggs' on how to make them suitable for babies! in fact, I sort of felt that the guide was more aimed at people who don't cook 'family' meals/for children, and are new to the job!

I'd like a smaller, more simplified version for parents.

The guidance and sample menus from public health might have pages you could easily print off:
