Perfect for the season of barbeques that seems to be upon us!

It's brilliant that they make savoury too. Please tell me that they didn't all get given one of those lovely jars too?

Yum. I like the way you challenge the usual presumption that baking = cakes and sweet treats.

    Okay how can I refuse.

    It's 1 green pepper
    1 red pepper
    42 oz of tinned sweetcorn
    8oz soft brown sugar
    I tbsp yellow mustard seeds
    2 tsp celery seeds
    1 large onion
    600 ml white wine vinegar
    2 tbsp mustard powder
    I tsp turmeric
    1 tsp salt

    2 tbsp cornflour

Finely chop the peppers and onion.
Crush the mustard seeds and celery seeds .
Put all the ingredients except the cornflour into a pan md stir over low heat for 5/10 mins until all the sugar has dissolved.

Simmer for 50 minutes stirring frequently.

Combine the cornflour with 2 tbsp of water add to the pan stirring for 2-3 mins until the mixture thickens.

Spoon into clean warm jars. Tip jars upside down.

You can eat straight away but to allow the flavours develop leave in a cupboard for 1 month.
