"Nice plastic dolls"

Hi everyone, I'm after some nice plastic dolls (maybe with soft body's) that look reasonably nice (not all hard and eerie looking!!). Can anyone recommend me some please, I can't find any nice ones! :-)

I got some good anatomically correct ones from Amazon. Also a good range of ethnicity other than black or white.

Thanks flora, I don't particularly like the look of these (yes I'm that fussy!!) but I guess they're not for me so it doesn't matter. I definitely like the soft rather than hard bodies. Though maybe hard bodied is more long lasting. Hmmmm...

I have soft bodied dolls inside and hard bodied dolls outside ..... That way they can have baths, get muddy and be left out in the rain without too much worry!

My 'inside' dolls come from a variety of places ... elc, ikea and local toy shops, friends & car boots etc! I also have little dolls that are the size of my hand up to bigger dolls, almost the size of a real newborn!

Do all dolls come dressed in pink and blue? are they all white?...any variation on the theme of diversity would be great!!

Smyths toys used to do what looked like nice dolls, fairly cheaply too if I remember (2 for £15 maybe?). Haven't seen them in the flesh as my mum found me some dolls in the charity shop/car boot and the kids really aren't fussed what they look like, they're just as happy pushing a teddy around in a buggy as a dolly, but I nearly bought the smyths ones

I've got 4 of these dolls. They are versatile as can be used both indoor and outdoors. Mine love washing them.

I didn't realise they were ones that could be washed...I can see I may buy a couple now, even though I don't need them, my kids spend most of their days outside washing things so would love to wash babies!

Which learning areas does the whole looking after dolls, washing them, talking to them etc come under - psed and C&L? Oh and imagination I suppose (EAD)?

It's going to depend on what the children do,some ideas:
Pd- undressing dressing of dolls- fine motor skills, using soap pump or bar of soap motor skills. Understanding health benefits of washing (talking about germs/clean etc) - health
C&l talking expressing following instructions negotiating
Psed- taking turns, feeling good, sense of achievement, having a go
Maths- talking about size , big small, tiny etc.
Ead, role play, I imitating what they have experienced, imagination,
Literacy reading back of shampoo bottles/instructions etc.
