    Default Numbers

Hi, is there a set maximum number of mindees a childminder can have on their books at any one time, as long as they stick to the given number ratios for each session, . As long as each hour is within the guidelines of numbers can you have eg 15 in total on your books .

As long as you don't go over your ratios it doesn't matter how many you have on your books as you may have different children attending during the week over various days. Hope that helps.

You must also stay within your insurance numbers at any one time. My maximum is 12.

I'm with Morton Michel and is says I shouldn't exceed 12, with an assistant, 18.

It doesn't matter how many on your books with insurance either but it will matter how many children you are caring for at any one time. Also some area you will need planning permission if you are going to have over a certain number of children in the day. Can I ask why you are worried about numbers on books rather than ratios?

That's all at one time through isn't it...not just 12 maximum on books

I always cap mine at 9 mindees as I have 2 teenagers and I leave one space for a friend (I don't know if they are included in my 12 but just in case)

Sometimes I wish I had invested in a good set of earplugs
