    Default Training and cpd

My council seem to have started charging a set rate for every course available Where some of it used to be free (is this all part of budget cuts etc?). Just wondered if anyone knew anywhere good to get some low cost or free training (on all subjects nothing specific)? I'm just pained to pay the charges my council charge...

The best value training online is as a gold member on this childcare.co site. Excellent range of courses to pick from.

I mentioned this not long ago the the National Maths hubs offer training in maths free which is brilliant - this link takes you to the early years search, scroll down and you will find the CPD on numbers and counting , but to access you have to sign in.

I have also mentioned before that I am an Open Learn addict with the Open University - lots of free courses which are extracts from their courses - lots on babies, children, education that I have found interesting and you can keep a record of what you do in your log in area to print off for your CPD file.

It seems a lot of Local authorities are charging now.

My LA used to do a one off payment for a year and you could do whatever training you want. Now it's a price per course. Usually about £20 except for FA. It's a bit annoying as I'm less inclined to do as many as I can.

They've put on one free session of training and I've done the first half. It wasn't that fantastic. :S
