I want to spend my time visiting family and friends and having my Christmas decorations up with a roaring fire no fire guard surround and enjoying all the wee ornaments sitting around with no little people to worry about burning themselves or touching anything. I can't please all my parents with holiday time so I please myself
This is the joy of being self employed .....you can choose your holidays when you want. I know that I will be off next Christmas as my dh should be home . I try and plan my holidays for when my husband is home so we can do something together my children are grown up so they do there own things.

I don't work between Christmas and New Year as I don't have any families that actually NEED me to, but I have a couple that might just send their children if I was open!
So I don't open. However, if I was needed, I would have child and they would just join in with whatever I was doing! (Although it might depend on the mindee if I did open! Currently all my EY are gorgeous and adored by my own children and they adore my children so it wouldn't be a hardship to have them!)

I used nanny and often worked between Christmas and New Year - generally collected up child/children and took them along with me to my family Christmas events! They were usually spoiled as the only little child there!

In September I gave all my parents my holidays right up to January 2017 so no excuses, I send out the list every couple months with invoices and give them a reminder if one is due the next month as I hand over invoice. I use to try and work around parents trying to juggle my holidays with theirs but you always upset one set parents. So now I get mine in first.

Im closing on last day of term (18th) and reopen on 4th jan. Ive got 2 full weeks off. I really need it. Rest of the holidays i take in the year are normally going 'on holiday' so it will be nice to just be at home and relax.
