DBS check for American - any different and how long??

Hello!!

Just wanted to know how long a DBS check takes for Americans. My hubby has only been living her since sept 2014. Also are there any additional checks i should be applying for or with the DBS cover his years in the states?

I had been living overseas when I registered- Do DBS as usual with the previous addresses as required and they will follow it up- for us I am not sure if they had to contact the country we lived in (police), but they asked us to get 'certificates of good conduct' from the previous country which was easy to do. It could well take longer than a straightforward DBS application.

It is if you have been living over seas in the previous 5 years that you have to do this, but they will tell you what you need to do.

I called DBS and they said the time limit should be the same as mine. Yet mine came back in two weeks and im still two months down the line waiting for his. Its in the final stages on the online checker. Im gonna call Ofsted and see what they say.
