Default Auditing yourself against the EYFS

Does anyone do this and if so do you record it? Just looking for a simple(ISH!) way to do this.

Can you clarify a bit on what sort of audit you are thinking about apart from reading and understanding the EYFS inside out?
is the SEF or similar system not what you are looking for?

    I use this:
Infant/Toddler Environment Rating Scale: Amazon.co.uk: Thelma Harms, Debby Cryer, Richard M. Clifford: Books

But I used it and the Early Years one in my other life, so know it quite well. I have done it twice a year and incorporated the results into my action plan.

You could just get a copy of the EYFS and go through it, indicating a red, Amber, green....annotating .Then put the ambers and if there are any red's into an action plan. The green's could be used for the SEF?

Thanks for that link Flora Dora
I must admit I had not linked the audit to that...there is also ECERS for Early Childhood which many LAs use for Quality Assurance and many agencies will too.

Some local authorities offer an audit tool (printed or online) that you can use.

www.tes.co.uk also has some examples. And of course, google will give lots of results.

It really depends what you want to audit, so you should read through several different formats and see which one best suits your needs.

I did look at this and only decided against it because of cost...I already had copies of the others.

A mum Of my LO is an LEA Early Years advisor ( though I think her title is not this now) and she uses ECERS.
