Food provision... new EU legislation!
As you will hopefully know by now there is new EU legislation from tomorrow (13th Dec) which states that, if we provide food for children, we have to be able to inform parents (if they ask us) what is in the food.
I have written a NEW blog with advice and further information if you have decided you are no longer providing food - Sarah's Blog: Childminders and food allergy legislation
You will find lots of links and advice in Childminding Forum free downloads here - Food and Allergies Guidance
We have shared information from the FSA here - Food Standards Agency advice.
There is free training with a certificate at the end here - Food Standards Agency - Home.
If the Childminding Forum can support you in any other ways, please let us know. Thank you

Hi Sarah, please could you explain what you mean by your "scribble it down" method? Thanks :-)

In my daily diary -
Thursday
b/f - wheat flakes, milk, melon, banana
am snack - breadsticks, cheese, grapes
lunch - vegetable soup (see recipe in file), bread, papaya, yoghurt
pm snack - none
tea - bolognese (see recipe in file), spaghetti, garlic bread, chocolate coins (see label in file)
Friday
b/f - teacakes, jam, milk, strawberries
am snack - etc etc...
Just scribbled in my diary. There isn't a statutory length of time to keep them - I thought maybe 3 months because that's how long we have to keep food receipts for food hygiene.
We've always had a recipe file for parents and we've been updating it for a few weeks now - it's saving us so much duplication!

Thanks Sarah- there is a link in your Blog which is not correctly linked I think, first paragraph: '...The Food Standards Agency have provided advice about the changes for childminders here.'

I think this is what you meant to link to:
