    First of all Happy New Year everyone!!! I started childminding last feb so nearly a year now

    Happy New Year to you too, you keep hold of you register, so that, if need be, you have proof of who came on what day and during what times. Once your son is attending full time school he is classed as one of your over 5's ( even though he is only 4 ) so yes you can take on another EYFS child, hth xx

    Hi. You need to keep accident forms for 21yrs and 3 months so I think I would keep the registers for the same amount of time then you have back up to child attendance if a claim was made.

    All accounts paperwork is 6 years
    Attendance,child record forms, contracts, accident logs etc the 21 years etc

    Great thanks a lot. Didn't realise it was that long!!! Looks like I will have to invest in some filing cabinets.

    Just sorting out planning and I'm now wondering how long do we have to keep our weekly and yearly plans for?

    There is no requirement. So you can decide, you may want to keep for Ofsted visit or for your own future reference for reusing ideas.

    By the way health ans safety executive state that keep all risk assessments for 6 years. I scan them and put them into memory stick.

    My risk assessments haven't changed from last year it have just reprinted them and put the new dates on that I reviewed them so I have just kept last years copy and filed it.
