Childminding at wedding
I have been approached about childminding at a wedding. Does anybody have any experience of doing something like this?
Would my insurance cover me?
Would I need to do anything else to be able to do this?

Tricky ground in my opinion.
Unless you call yourself a baby sitter instead as this would not affect you in anyway regarding Ofsted etc.
I would do it but totally separate from Childminding and would point this out first and foremost to whoever was requesting my services

Will you be at home or at the wedding?
If at home then you need the same information as if they were full time. You should have a contract and at least the child's personal info in case of emergency and permission forms.

It would be at the wedding.

I think really it's babysitting then. If parents are also at the wedding but elsewhere in the building then in an emergency you could find them pretty quickly.

I did this for a younger sibling of a child I minded. It was babysitting and I just basically followed this child around keeping him safe and helping with his food.
I also worked for an agency who do crèches and that was a lot more complicated. Paperwork and keeping within Ofsted numbers. Not sure re insurance tho.

I think it would be for a small number of children from different families, although not sure of actual number yet. So in that case do you think it would start being more complicated and be more of a crèche?

Childminding is in your own home and babysitting is at the child's home - don't think your childminder PL insurance would cover you but morton michel do specialist insurance for this just google wedding and morton michel
