The Childminder
I see her every day, she barely knows I'm there,
For she's telling them a story, about a little bear,
They're not much older than 3 or 4
Yet hang on her every word
Oh wait, the story ends, as they've now spotted a small bird
The excitement and the chatter over such a simple sight
Then it's back to her story as the small bird takes flight
I know she has a tough job, but she smiles all the same
And every single challenge, she turns into a game
I don't know how she does it, she must be very tired
Tho' I look at her through eyes that are truly so inspired
She teaches, scolds and praises, makes mud pies, doesn't mind a mess
Is she happy in her job? I would have to say yes!
I watch them turn the corner, squealing with delight
Still listening to the story of the little bears plight
I smile to myself, for that's really made my day
Those little ones are very blessed, that's all I have to say
Hels xx

Lovely! Thanks for sharing, I too would love to know where this comes from!

Awwww that's sweet! x
Although, having said that, if they leave your side half way through a story to look at a bird you will, under what appear to be new inspection rules, be failing to keep them interested and engaged
