    Default Facebook page

Can I ask for those of you who have facebook pages - do you set up a group as your page or set it up as a person? I was always planning on setting up a website but over 2 years on I still haven't found the time so am thinking of doing this instead. Also a new parent has requested me as a friend and I don't feel comfortable accepting so thought this may be a better option? Any tips? Thank you!

I have a page! I also have specific permissions for photos and info to be put up there as well.

I have not been doing it for long, and don't update too much at the moment as trying to get other things in place. I do think it is good though.

One parent does get photos of their children in the scrapbooks, but not all the pictures, so this way I can upload pretty much all of them and tag parent. She commented the other day that she was looking at them in bed and said how lovely it was so see what they get up to and how happy they look!

Being a techno phobe I never had a face book page but set one up in my childminder name and just have photos of the house and art work children have done. Only parents are friends. Parents post news on there they want to share with me and I print it off and put in lj's. I've yet to get the hang of doing post etc.

I have a fb page just for my parents, noses were looked down at it at a recent NCMA meeting but as I said I have permission forms just for facebook and also I only allow my parents on there, also I have it on the highest security setting. My parents love it and they get to see what their children are doing straight away as well as putting up notices

Morning all, this is great, as I am brand new to this I was going to ask what was the general thought of having a page on facebook.
I wasn't sure if was frowned upon or not. I think it's a great way to be in touch, as most people are on the site in one way or another.

Thank you for all your comments and to those who put there page links in - they look great. Well done! I was thinking of doing one instead of a website so would be for parents and prospective parents alike. I have a permissions form which mentions photos on websites and all my parents have ticked to say yes. However I think maybe I should do a specific facebook one. I guess the downside would be if a parent isn't on facebook they may not want their children on there. I think I may send out an email to parents to ask what they think?

All but one of my parents are fine with me putting photos of their children on my facebook page and I have specific permission for this. I have also had quite a lot of enquiries through this, more so than any other way of advertising!
