OOh Carolyn spoke about these, can I get back to you later after I have spoken to her, she is coming here with her Mindees shortly .
June
For anyone thinking about it I say go for it. They are really easy to look after (once you get the right soil / moss in their tank) and I think they are fascinating. We have one called Bob. One of my mindees (aged 2) is fascinated by him, everyone else including the parents just think I'm mad.

Pity you are so far away.
Thanks for offerring
We used to have some of these. We loved them. Would love some more, but no idea where you are.
Where are you? you can't post obviously
Oh oh oh yes please,
We are doing mini beasts and my lo's collect all of the snails out of the garden and they love them.
Where are you? Would it be possible to post? I think I need to calm down and take a breath
Practically how long do they live and how do you keep them?
If it is possible to get them from you I would love some
Some kinds of insects you can, I bought a worm world and if you can not find any worms in your garden the company will post you live worms
I dont know what the rules are for domestic post, you wouldnt beable to just pop them in the post box but I know pet shops post insects.
Yes you can post them. I got Bob when he was a tiny baby from a lady on this forum. He was packaged well and labelled and arrived perfectly safely

I am in Aylesbury buckinghamshire if any wanted to collect but i can find out if i can post them through the mail.
He has a tank to live in (an old fish tank). After a lot of trial and error I have found the best thing to use in the tank is Coco Fibre and also some Sphagnum Moss (both easily bought as dry in pet shops and you just soak it in water and then once it's swelled up put it in the tank. This will last for months before it needs renewing. We feed him cucumber and tomato mainly, replace it about twice a week in this hot weather. A small flat lid with some water in. They need calcium, I did try egg shells but now use cuttle bone. I spray the tank with warm water and mist him and make the soil damp once or twice a week. They don't like to get cold so in the winter make sure the tank is in a warm ish place, not near open doors etc, Bob went into hibernation when he got too cold.
Compared to puppies, cats, rabbits and kids (who all live here too) Bob is soooo easy to look after.
