Default Deposit for School Holidays only

Hi I am taking on a new child for school holidays only - the first time I will have him will be the half term break in October. I am abit stumped as to what deposit I need to ask for as I normally ask parents for the first 2 weeks upfront as deposit. Any help would be appreciated!

I would take payment for October half term now (non-refundable if they don't come) then in October holidays I'd take payment for Christmas (again non-refundable if they don't come) and so on for each holiday. When it comes to 6 weeks break I'd take the first 4 weeks at May half term and the remaining 2 weeks when they come in July.

That way you should never be out of pocket if they don't come.

    Miffy xx
    Keep smiling!

i would get them to sign a booking form saying that payment will be made on xxx date (at least 1 month in advance) and is non-refundable if booked days are not used.

I have 1 who comes holidays only. I charge £15 as a "registration fee" for any ad hoc which is a one off payment at contract signing. Then they must fill in a booking form for the next holiday at end of last one. These hours are then paid for weekly 1st working day of each week (even if they then cancel as I could have turned down someone else) although they can add more on weekly if I have availability.
