    Default Average Fee

When i went for my session 1 briefing the lady that gave the talk said for our area SW London the average fee was £6.50 an hour but after reading quite a bit on here that seems quite a lot, she did say to ask around as well so just wondered what anyone thought of the fee or if anyone from around SW london area could give me an idea that would be great

    Thank you

i would ring a few local minders hon. Do you mean SW London. I'm not far from wimbledon and charge £4.50 though most new minders are now charging £5 or £5.50/hour. However, over in Wimbledon/Earlsfield its nearer £6.50/£7 and hour.

Ok thank you yes im in the middle(ish) of Earlsfield and Wandsworth area with Balham and Clapham quite close so maybe with it being those areas it makes sense that it would be slightly higher

I charge £4.50, but I am in the south, about 60 miles from london. I personaly have gone by my nanny wage. Because my business combines both my nannying and my childminding I find parents are willing to pay my rates, technically i am running a home from home nanny business but with registration so the parents are paying for having a qualified nanny. As a nanny I charge £8.50 per hour net, so i just decided to half it for childminding. Most childminders in my area only charge £3.00 per hour.

That does sound cheap - have you checked out other childminders rates in your area?
