Default Feel mean charging this for a day!

I have 3yr old which I charge parents £90wk for up to 3 full days and also as retainer for the rest of the wk as its shifts. I also have his sibling in school hols which I charge £3.75hr up to my full day rate.

Mum said this morning that she only needs me Fri nxt wk to which I replied "thats fine but let me know what hours you need as C is on an hourly charge now"

Thinking about it now I think I'm asking too much! £90 for 3yr old and up to another £30 for the 6yr old for 1 day

I'm thinking I should just charge the £90 for them both as we are having a halloween party Friday and would want them here anyway!!

    What do you think?

I think i'd probably just stick to the £90 for them both as it's only one day.

If you do charge less make is crystal clear that you're doing this as a favour to her and that usual prices apply during xmas etc or she might start expecting more than you are prepared to give later!

I agree, it's all too easy to try and be fair and then get taken advantage of.

    Charge contracted rate!

I only have two of the boys for one day next week but they're being charged the usual amount. I'm here, her choice not to use me

Agree with above, why differ from your contract?

I think Mum did the right thing

I have sadly learned the hard way that if you do favours and one-offs some parents will expect it all the time and not be at all thankful for it either.

I would stick by your usual agreement. my experience is if you charge different and do a favour the parents generally expect it and then take advantage.

I would stick to the normal price.
