Default HELP - 1st enquiry and not sure what to ask for as a deposit

Recently registered and had a great enquiry which is from a nurse who has her shift rota up until end of this year.

In the main the days dont move round although they can do, and I will be doing the odd sat or sun too.
I have no issues charging for a full time place as I cannot fill the odd days, but I do not know what to ask for as a deposit as they have emailed me to say they would love their child to start!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do i ask for a month upfront? 2 weeks? aaarghhhh

I need to get back to them today preferably

    Thanks everyone

For what its worth, I always charge the equivalent of one month's fees as a deposit irrespective of whether the child is part or full time. My deposits are not set off against the first months fees but are returned when the child ends with me. All my mindees pay monthly on the first day of each month. In this way, if there is every a problem with payment, I have the deposit to fall back on.

I ask for the first month of the agreed contracted hours in advance. So eg if a LO was starting in July I'd work out July's payment and get that off them ASAP to secure the place. Then July is paid for (and you have the deposit which you should def say in none refundable - sounds daft but some don't actually realise ) incase they change their minds. Then you just ask for August payment at end of July and so on. Always get payment in advance every month. Saves alot of grief

Thanks everyone thats great. Really helped me out.
Think I will go with the months deposit ahead of LO starting and then use it for final payment when they leave.

You are all stars thanks again
