Hi
It is different depending on the area but I don't charge per hour (as I would lose out in the long term). I charge per session for before (7am to 9am) £5 and after (3:20pm to 6pm) £10 schoolers, it doesn't matter if they are with me for 1 hour or the full session.
At present I only have an after schooler and its only for 1 hour - so I charge £5 for the hour. As from september I will have a lo before and after school (1/2 hour in the morning and 2 hours at night - I am planning on charging £10 per day. If it were only before school I think I would charge £5!
I charge an hourly rate the same as my under 5 mindees.
School is a 2 minute walk tho so not really going out of my way much...
Also the local school has breakfast club and after school club and even if i only charge my hourly rate they are still cheaper! (just)
ye i charge per session for before and after school i charge £5 before school
I charge a minimum fo 3 hours @£5 ph so £15. I advise parents that gives them up to 3 hours care, but my hours are 8-6 hence a school age child could come before school and then after but as school chucks out at 3.25 and we leave in the morning at 8.15 they would need to be organised. So far all come after school only.
I charge £6.50 from 7.30 to 8.45am and from 3.20 to 6pm £14. Both plus food
I would do a rec in your area and see what others charge
Debbie
I am going to charge £4 per hour plus £1 pick up or drop off to school fee.
I do £5 per hour but dont do 1/2 hours so if mindee comes from 3.00 - 4.30 parent get charged £10
