How long for standing order to process????

Hi Please help I have just started minding this week I only have one little girl and she is just settling in. I asked mum to pay for one session last week and 3 sessions in advance for next week she agreed to set up standing order for today. However nothing has come into my account yet. Do standing orders take a few days to clear or could it be that she hasnt done it yet. I dont want to say anything incase it does take few days and she thinks that I dont trust her. Positive relationships are important but so is me being paid. I was thinking that if it isnt in tomorrow I will get in touch with her. Is that reasonable or can they take few days??

I believe it can take a few days like a cheque. How about ringing your bank and asking. I know I pay for a monthly sub for something and that has to be paid by the 8th or I dont get the item that month, so my SO goes out about the 2nd to be safe.

Just did a quick google and Nat West came up first, said its 2 working days for it to get into your account, would assume all banks are the same

may have changed since i left banking , but banks 2 days . b.societies 3-5 days same day if same bank.

hi when one of my parents first set a standing order up it took a week i rang my bank and they said it depends on the bank who set it up once id recieved it once it was fine. i no its hard when you need paying

I pay my rent via standing order, i put it through the 1st to reach the landlord by the 6th, when i put it through the bank says (natwest) it will take 2-4 working days, to proccess,

Is it definitely standing order? Is she paying exactly the same amount every week. People get mixed up with what they call things - standing orders, direct debits, bank transfers. If it is a SO once it is set up with her bank it will leave her account and arrive in yours on the 3rd working day. All of my customers pay by online banking as the amounts change each time. Some banks offer immediate money transfer others can take 3 working days.

If it was me I would check with parent how money was sent. Maybe put it over that as you were expecting the money by now you were worried that it may have gone astray I would also want my money for next week before minding commences but maybe I am getting cynical in my old age
