1 Day 1 Week, 2 The Next - How to Charge?

I have replied to a childcare request on ***** for a lady who wants every Friday and then every second Monday.

Would you just charge:

- Just for the hours used ie the Friday one week and Monday and Friday the following week

- Charge for the hours used PLUS a retainer for the Mondays not used ie half fee

- Or average it out and split the cost so its the same charge each week (regardless of days/hours worked)?

Any advice welcome.

Its a long day but lucrative. She has said she is near the same train station I am close to so am hopeful she might be interested.

i would do the 2nd option.

you would be out of pocket and this is what i have done before

if it were me i would charge both days full pay every week as she is taking up the space every week cause you cant fill it. you can always say if you get somone wanting the oposite monday to her then you will stop charging her the extra day.

I would do retainer of half for the day when it is not used. If i got an enquiry for a fulltimer or close to it i would then say they had to pay full fee every week even if not used or else lose the day.
