Expect to be paid if the mother has just been taken into hospital???

Meant to have the children back this week but the mother has been taken into hospital (hasn't been that well for a while, not sure what's wrong with her). Children are 7 and 9. Before and after school.

I would expect to be paid especially for the immediate time i had looked after the kids. If its going to be alonger term thing then i would look to negotiate something depending on circumstances.

I think I'd still ask to be paid but would offer to have them maybe extra hours if needed say if there was no one to pick up at the normal time & maybe do a bit extra for them to help out. Maybe offer to split the cost over the next 2 months.
