    Default Help please

Been asked if I would do every other Friday 3 - 9 for a 16 month boy . Never done these hours before any one any idea what to charge Will probably have to pick him up from home 1 mile away and drop him off after. In west midlands we charge about£3per hour in the day. Thanks

I would charge time and a half for hours you consider unsociable. As before remember to include charges for your time/mileage when dropping off etc

well the inland revenue consider 40p a mile reasonable to cover all the running costs of your car.

Personally as a charge though i would say about £3- dont forget you have the return journey too

Do you really want to go out at 9pm to drop him off?
I certainly wouldnt want to, especially in winter.

I pick up at 8.15 and drop off at 3.45 a little one. I charge from 8-4 as this is the times I leave/arrive home.

Its my understanding that if you charge the parent for mileage ie ask for money to cover this, then you cannot put it through your mileage log as you have already been paid for it?

Thats why I round up the charge for LO from 8-4. Its an extra half an hour that I get paid for but its not a contribution to petrol - it covers the time I leave and get home ie the time I am working.

(Have I confused you as I have confused myself!!! )

In regards to fees, I would do normal fee up to 6pm and time and a half after that.

    Hi

You can still out the milage through your books as it is still an expense as long as you put the extra income through your books too. The same goes for food if you ask parents to pay for meals.
