    Default monthly charging

    Hi there

I was wondering how others charge their monthly fees - do you base it on the number of days for each specific month (so that each month is different), or do an average monthly fee, (weekly amount x 52, divided by 12)?

If it helps, I work it out in advance and do it on a month by month basis. So today, my mindees parents have paid for all of December today, which includes holiday and extra hours as school closed! Does mean that you don't always have the same money each month but if you work out the invoices in advance you can sort out your budget! I always give them the invoice a week before they have to pay and am now having to charge £5 a day if not paid on time!!!!

    I count 4 weeks - starting with a Monday

So I count 4 Mondays and that is their month payment in advance

The next month continues from the next Monday

Therefore my money is always the same and I do not have to add more or less when there are 5 weeks in a month

I do different for different parents. However, my full timer who is my main income is calculated over 52 weeks and divided by 12 to give me the same amount each month.
With part timers or temp contracts I let the parents decide. I've been really flexible about payment as long as it's in advance. Therefore, one of them pays me as an when I have her son, another pays me every four weeks and the other is doing per calendar month.

I do it per month to be paid on 1st. It does vary each month this way but its not a problem for me. I look at the 5 week months as a bonus!

I charge by calendar month. Some months are better than others but I don't mind that.

I charge as per the month so some months I get a lot more than others.

It's much easier for me this way as it's how my brain works - I like everything to be as simple as possible!
